Upload Utility - FTP Accomplice
The main difference between FTP Accomplice, and existing programs out there, such as WS_Ftp, is that it is for convenient "auxiliary" usage, mainly for organizing a "static" group of files that you regularly update, versus continually adding new files and images to a website.
Its main purpose is to define "Upload Nodes" (as compared to "Backupsets" in your normal everyday Back up program). Each child node in the tree defines an Upload Node ( where you specify what files to upload to whichever ftp server is set for this node)
The parent tree nodes (Upload Sets) provide a flexible way of grouping various "Upload Nodes", so that you can upload a particular of set of files with a single click, or at a given frequency (such as every 5 days or whatever)
Again, if your site is entirely maintained by an application such as Frontpage or XsitePro, both of which of course handle new files and updates, then this program shown below, is of little use to you.
The main reason behind creating it was to provide an easy way of updating Wordpress template files, or for updating an existing js, php file, or whatever.
Specifically: The more obscure files that stay in one particular folder on your hard drive (in a deep hard-to-navigate-to folder), but that end up in a constant, particular place on an ftp server.
This was my inevitable answer to my disdain for having to open up explorer or go digging into a deep folder, ( in either Explorer, or an Explorer interface in your average ftp program ) everytime I made a change to a file that belongs on the server.
I figured I shouldn't have to do this for files static files where I know the location of the file itself and I know what ftp server they get uploaded to and which exact directory on the server.
