Ongoing DVD To-Rent list
If I know I will stop renting videos for 4-6 weeks, for whatever reason, such as having a backlog of taped tv shows, I don’t want to get behind in video rentals. Once a video gets too old for the New Release section of the video store, and the video employees rotate these older DVD’s to the center of the store, then it’s a little bit harder to realize which ones I haven’t seen yet, because I”m not about to walk up and down every aisle

In the current case, I will probably be watching Spielberg’s 6-Weekend Western special on TNT (i’m in the U.S.), so there will be no video rentals in that time period.
( nice savings of money, at least 25 bucks, which I will probably blow at Starbucks or Jamba Juice.)
What I simply do, every Friday (or whenever), I go to www.hollywoodvideo.com, and go to a page they have set up that shows what’s on their New Release shelf. When I see ones that I know I will want to rent, I simply add the video to my desktop version of SplashShopper ( a database/list utility for the palmpilot ).
This way, I have a list of the movies I want to see, and if I don’t go to the video store until 3 months later, I don’t care where the video store staff moved all of those movies that I’m “backlogged on”. Because I just pull up the list of un-watched ones and ask the video store employee where it is.
