There is enough stuff to get home once I walk in the door after work. The floor workout I do, starting dinner, opening mail, answering calls, etc..But when I open my Email, I usually get email from myself, that I emailed from work. I don’t want to think about how to file it!.. Not even one ounce of quantum ionic unit of mental energy.


So while at work, I put in the Email Subject:

Marketing Teleseminar “Click On Defer Button”

This way, at home, I have a concrete direction. With the GTD Outlook Add-IN, I have the defer button, so I immediately click on it, and an Appointment is made.. instead I would have looked at this email, with an intellectual understanding of a doorknob as to what to do with it, until it mentally clicked… Total waste of my Energy.

Another example:

If I’m browsing Amazon at work (I know, not good), and come across a book I want, I email myself the title and author of the book.

But the subject will be: OPEN Splashshopper and add to database: Book List.

BOOM: I know what to do at home, right away, when I open the email…

1. open splash
2. add a new entry
3. from the email, cut and paste the title and author.

When I delete that email, literally within 45 seconds of opening it, it’s such satisfaction!
