I stopped trying to be Mr. perfect web page bookmark organizer. I was creating subfolders in subfolder in subfolders in firefox bookmarks

Now I just put them in them in some pretty broadly categorized folders, naming it “Other” or similar. I stopped trying to find the perfect folder in the firefox bookmark hierarchy to put add bookmark “Amazon API Php script web site”.. I just simply put it into Development bookmark folder even there is already a ton of them in there.

Firefox lets you search every easily:

It’s a lot faster than making the double effort of
1. Every time you come across a firefox bookmark you spend time wondering through the bookmarks to put it in the perfect place.. and
2. when you want to find it, you’re trying to remember the “guidelines” by which you decided to put stuff (and how often do you really go to that bookmark again, especially the ones like the coffee yogurt shake recipe?)

By the way, it’s good to include in your backup routine, this folder:
“C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*.*”
but exclude everything, except *.js, *.html, and *.db. This will make sure your
bookmarks are backed up in case you have accumulated a lot.
